Back to the class with fresh smiles!

Send your child to school with a healthy smile

Thousands of children in a few days will return to school for the new school year. Before starting school, children must undergo some medical examinations in order to identify any problems that may affect their health and progress. One such examination is the dental examination performed by the dentist or pediatric dentist.

This test is an essential contribution of parents to the health of their children and not a formal procedure in order to obtain the necessary certification. Through this dental visit, children and parents will be informed and sensitized about dental issues and problems that may exist will be diagnosed.

So visit with your children a general dentist or even better a specialized pediatric dentist, to create a new dental culture in your children that will be the best dental investment you will ever make:

  • Check for dental decay
More than half of children aged 5-9 have at least one dental decay or seal. Toothache or a chronic dental problem can cause difficulty in chewing, speaking and concentrating. Many times, children with chronic toothache may not reveal the problem to their parents, leaving the toothache untreated and the children having problems with school performance without teachers and parents being able to explain the cause. In addition, dental problems are often responsible for children’s absences from school and missed classes.
  • Orthodontic examination
Every child should have an orthodontic checkup at the age of 6-7 years. Early orthodontic examination and early or preventive orthodontic treatment can prevent or reduce the occurrence of serious problems with the closure of permanent teeth and jaws. Proper closure not only contributes to the improvement of facial aesthetics but also to better oral function (chewing, speech, oral hygiene).
  • Periodontal examination
Screening for gingivitis and periodontitis is essential in both children and adolescents. These problems occur not only in adults but also at younger ages due to poor oral hygiene. In fact, adolescents may develop aggressive forms of periodontitis that need to be treated immediately.
  • Prevention
Preventive dental care ensures proper oral health in children, offering a healthy smile.

So, on the occasion of returning to the desks, let September be the month for the dental examination of children. Happy school year to all children!
